  • HERD 1.x is based on Fedora 44 and follows that base's security updates. Keep the system updated with dnf upgrade.

No — SSH is key-only (PasswordAuthentication no). Add your key via the console/Cockpit, or (with caveats) enable password auth per Security › SSH.
